How I want Skye to be portrayed

I would really like Skye to be portrayed as quite natural and a bit like a country girl with attitude. We really like how Taylor swift is portrayed as she is quite casual and has little makeup on. Taylor swift's music is country pop and relates well to the teenage audience as her lyrics portray how a teenager thinks. She is also quite young which makes it evident that the teenage age listen to her music. Her music is aimed at females rather than males and this is what we want our music video to be aimed at. In her video she uses male gaze as she is very pretty. Taylor swift is a singer song writer, musician, record producer and acress. As she is a musician it made me think that this is how we want Skye to be portrayed as because she has the use of instruments. All of her images show that she is very simple and you can tell that her genre is country from her images and how she is portayed. I have done an Animoto presentation which shows how Taylor swift is portrayed in the media. Most of the images in the photos are very soft images and some are done outside which works well with the country genre. When you look at the images you don't stereotype as an artist because none of the images are bold but are more natural and this is what I think our images should be like. When Taylor Swift is doing her modelling she adds more attitude to the pictures but still has the innocent look to her which I think works really well. I really like the natural mise en scenes in her pictures and especially the natural backgrounds. Taylor Swifts album covers are very simple as its just her on the cover with the name of the album and her name, I think this works really well as it makes the natural image stand out and it makes it more pure rather than one that is too bold. I think when making my album cover I am going to stick with this simple theme because I think it works really well with my genre of music and how I want Skye to be portrayed to the audience. Through Taylor Swifts music videos she always has a natural environment e.g. in 'Love story' it is set in a castle but you can see lots of trees and nature around her. I also think her videos relate to her as an individual and you can see her soft personality through the videos which I think works really well. I really want our artist 'Skye' to be portrayed like this because I think that soft rock music is quite natural and because of the soft music I think that the makeup should be really light but pretty like Taylor Swifts as I think it makes the mise en scene stand out more. I also think that in the video there should definately be a lot of nature and outdoor shots because I think it will make 'Skye' be portrayed as very down to earth and make her seem soft and elegant at the same time. I also think that it would work well if it was mostly all nautral costumes but there was one abstract one because I think she would work well with a modernized verison of the song Fast car.

This is Skye and we want her to portrayed just like Taylor Swift as we like how the media see her and how simple her style is. We like the countrystyle look as it works really well and it means that it works well when you have forests or trees in the background. We really want Skye to have little makeup on in most of the video as this song is quite soft so we need to show that through Skyes look and her clothing. On the album cover I think that we could have more makeup as album covers stand out more but in the video we think that less makeup is much better. I also think that floaty fabrics would look good because I think it makes it more natural. Skye needs to portray the Genre in her style and this is going to be done by making sure we style her correctly and think into what shes wearing. We will be looking into what we want her to wear and in later posts and will come to a decision later on. Looking at Taylor Swift makes it helpful when looking at styling tips.
