Album Covers

Album Covers

These albums are very similar in the fact that they all have the main artist on the cover of them and this makes it obvious to whose album it is. These albums also have the name of the artist on the front and most of them have the name of the album which makes it easy to know what album it its. Most of these album covers are very simple with the photography that they use and the simple background to make the picture stand out from the background and also it means that the writing stands out to. You can tell from the colours that have been used to see what gender the albums are aimed at. Typical conventions are used in these album covers as they have the main image of the singer and the name and name of the album.

Abstract Album Covers

These album covers have been altered with digital programmes such as photoshop and I think that it makes them stand out from other albums because of the fact that they have a unique selling point and it means that people remember them. Almost all of the albums have the name of the album on the front of them which makes it obvious to the buyer of the name, this is a typical convention of the album cover. These albums show that you don't always need the main singer/band on the cover of the album whereas you can create the cover by having cartoons and animated figures which makes it stand out e.g. Kanye West's signiture bear. I think by the colours of the albums you can tell what gender the album is aimed at more depedning on the style of it.
