Adele

I have chose to look at Adele because I think that her music is similar to Tracy Chapmans music as it is quite slow, although it is a different genre. Adele is a British singer-songwriter and the first recipient of the Brit Awards Critics' Choice and was named the number-one predicted breakthrough act of 2008 in an annual BBC poll of music critics, Sound of 2008. Since her debut album 19, Adele has received much recognition both commercially and critically. The album debuted at number one, and has been certified 4x platinum in the UK.Her career in the US was boosted by a viewer record–breaking Saturday Night Live episode in late 2008. At the 2009 Grammy Awards, Adele won the awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Adele released her second album 21 on 24 January 2011 in the UK and sold 208,000 copies in its first week in the UK. The album has charted at number one in 17 countries, including several charts across Europe, Australia and the United States.

"Someone Like You" held the number one position for four consecutive weeks.

The Official Charts Company announced that Adele is the first living artist to achieve the feat of two top five hits in both the UK Official Singles Chart and the Official Albums Chart simultaneously since The Beatles in 1964. I thought that looking at an artist with slow songs and good music would give me inspiration because it means that I can get inspiration.

This video is quite like the 'Fast car' video because it has the use of a real life performance which has been used in the video itself. I really like this idea of the concert effect and I think it would be a good idea to do, however I think that it would be really hard to do this for the time we have and because of the equipment we have so therefore I don't think a massive concert would be good but maybe a small performance type video. Throughout the storyboarding we will be looking at some of Adeles videos which will help us get inspiration, we will be focusing m,ostly on Rolling in the deep because we really like the setting which is used and how it is dark and we would like a location like that in our video. We also like how it starts on a chair and how its the side of adeles face so we are going to look at the video and see the parts we like and do similar things in our video.
