Weather Forecast

This is the weather forecast for the weekend, I feel that it is best if we film this weekend because it is the same weather as our other shots. Next week it is raining all week apart from Sunday therfore I think it would be best if we film this weekend in order to get the weather the same. I think that we could film all the indoor shots next week whilst it's raining so we use our time efficiently.

Evaluation of Draft Video

I feel that the first video that we have done works quite well however I feel that we definately need to record the car bits in order to make it relate to the lyrics. I think that the stairs bit works really well as it looks like time has gone by really fast. I also think that in order to improve the video we need to make our video more proffesional and make it look more like a sterotypical music video. I feel that the video needs to be more sharp and I think that it also needs to have more locations. I think to improve the video Skye needs more makeup and we need to style her more. I also think that there needs to be more shots in the dark as I think that it wiull make it look much better visually. The most important aspect is that we need to finish all of the shots and get it done. I feel that some parts need to be refilmed as they aren't very proffesional looking.

Trying out techniques with words

Editing

For the editing I plugged the camcorder into my iMac. I then opened iMovie where I then opened the shots which were shown in the shots part. I then looked through my storyboard in order to see how long each shot was and to see which part went where. I then cut down some shots and sped some up in order to make a visual effect. I slowed some parts down which was the money going into the hat which I thought worked well. I then added the music to see if it looked right. I had to cut the song down on iTunes because it was too long and I did this by going onto the settings of the song and then changing where I wanted it to start and stop. I kept watching the video in order to see if parts looked good and to see if some things didn't work.

Progress so far

Currently I am working on editing more of the video. Seeing as there isn't all of the shots I am working on doing half of the video and then the rest I will use my Animoto so the teachers can look at it and so we can work out what we are going to do.

Equipment

The tripod was used to hold the camera and make sure that it was still and made sure the shot didn't change. It meant that the camera was in focus at all time and it meant that the camera didn't fall.

We used a sony HD camera which we got from Leicester College as there was no cameras left at school within the holiday. I felt that the camera worked really well because it has HD which meant that it was of good quality.

In todays lesson

Today we have talked about where we are going to film next. We have all decided to film tomorrow because that's when we are all free. Me and Hanna have decided where we are going to shoot the next location in a field in Enderby as 'Skye' lives in Narborough so it will be easy for her to get there. There is also a motorway near the field so we are going to use that motorway when filming.

Plan for tomorrow

There has been a bit of a problem getting 'Skye' for filming tomorrow so we are planning to try and rearrange something or instead we will try and film all the parts which haven't got Skye in it. If there is still a problem with getting hold of 'Skye' then we will try and use each other in the video in order to get an idea of what the video is going to be like, this will make it easier to see which parts work and which parts don't work. It also means we have footage to show to 'Skye' so it makes it easier for her to understand what she has to do throughout the video.

Plan for photographs

We are hoping to take some new photos in order to get them more proffesional. We are hoping to be using someones house in order to get the lighting right. From the draft photos I have realised that Skye needs to be wearing more makeup and needs to look more glam to ensure that it looks like an actual album cover. I also think we need lots of different locations to be photoraphed. I really want an image in the countryside on my album cover therefore I will be taking some photos in a field. I will use an image with a blank background for my album cover.

Plan for filming next

We will hopefully be filming next week sometime where we hope to film the rest of the shots. Currently we have filmed all of the street, stairs, fountain, John Lewis and clock tower. We will need to film the cars and also the motorway, the room and the forest. Hopefully this can be done quick and I can edit all the shots together in order to get an idea of how it looks so I can see the things that need to be changed. I think that there needs to be more lip syncing in the video as we haven't really got much therefore we need to think more about this when filming. This shots that still need to be filmed are:

Filming

First of all I got a camcorder from Leicester College but we couldn't find a Tripod therefore I had to look around at home to find one. I met up with Hanna who had the guitar and Skye who was in her costume. We then went to the first location which was the stairs in town, these were located near John Lewis Car Park. We then filmed all the shots here and Skye got changed into a different outfit so it looked better. We then went to a street and then we started filming the street parts. We brought the storyboard and the schedule list so we were sure of what shots to film and where. We then went to the clock tower and then filmed there. There was a problem though as there was something in front of it therefore we will need to film the close ups again in order to get a better image of Skye next to it. We then went to the fountain where we thought that it would work better having hand held motion therefore we used some hand held imagery. Last we went to the John Lewis glass bridge part, however this bit doesn't really work well therefore we may not put it in and also we may change it to something else. Other than that it was a very succesful day.

Evaluation of Digipack and Poster

Digipack:
I feel that my Digipack was a bit too simple. I think that the image on the cover needs to be much stronger in order to capture the ordiences attention and I also think that 'Skye' needs to wear more makeup to make it stand out but she still also needs to keep with the natural look. I feel that the images throughout the album cover needs to be much stronger. I also think that the images on the album cover need to link with the video. I feel that the back of the album needs much clearer writing. I think that on some pages she needs to have the guitar with her.
Poster:
I feel that the poster uses good colours and I really like the idea of the black and white image. I do feel that it needs to be much stonger and also the writing may need to be changed in order to be much bolder. Skye should be wearing more makeup in the image but  I feel that the stance is really good as it looks like she has attitude which works really well.

Plan For Filming

We are planning to film tomorrow, we have had a problem with getting a camcorder because they were all booked up for the holidays so I am hoping to get one from Leicester College and use it for tomorrow. We are hoping to film the shots in town. The shots that are needed to be taken in town are:

The props for tomorrow that we need are the guitar, camera, tripod and also maybe a camera. We will also need to make sure that Skye is in a costume which fits in with the genre and we need to make sure that she is portrayed how we want her to be portrayed.

Weather Forecast

I have looked at this weeks weather forecasts in order to see which days would be suitable to film because we need the same weather throughout the video. From looking at the weather I think that the best days to film would be Wednesday and Thursday as the weather is pretty much the same.

Digipack Draft

Poster Draft

This is my first draft of my poster, I used the draft pictures of 'Skye' and thought that this was the strongest out of all of them. I then used the colour scheme of red and black which proved to be the most eye-catching when I looked at colour pallets. I chose to keep the layout simple and also I changed the picture to black and white because I found it to look more proffesional and bold in this colour.
